1) HOW DID THE CLUB START?

The club has been operating since 2001 and was formalized and registered as a business in 2005 as a forum to bring women together for fun and friendship in a safe and structured environment. The Girls Nite Out Club is a great way to get a bit of balance back in your life. Whether you're looking to make some new friends or to get your 'girls night out', this club is for you.

2) IS THERE A MEMBERSHIP FEE?

Yes, there is a membership fee of $150.00 paid annually. (This equals just $12.50/ month!) Renewing members receive a discounted rate when renewing prior to membership expiry. Memberships are paid on an annual basis and are non-refundable. The annual membership fee covers the time and administrative aspects of operating the club - such as our web development / hosting, graphics, printed materials, accounting services, banking fees, office space and expenses, administrative staff, etc. Although the club is not a 'for-profit' organization it also cannot operate as a cost liability to the organizers. Events are for members only. Membership fee does not include the cost of the events. We reserve the right to refuse membership.

3) WHO CAN JOIN THE CLUB?

In response of our ever changing society it must be noted that The Girls Nite Out Club is a woman's club and is ONLY open to women for membership. Male applicants will not be accepted. In addition, the club is not open to trans-gender women unless they are post-op. The club is a social club and as with any social environment you will get out of it what you put into it. We encourage our members to interact and exchange contact information for get togethers outside of structured club activities and we provide a members chat site and a Facebook group to help facilitate this. The club attracts positive women who are looking to expand their social networks and to try new things in a safe and welcoming environment. Negative spirited people do not find a place in the club and enforcement of our Policies & Etiquette standards ensure that the club remains a warm and friendly place for all women.

4) WHAT ARE THE AGES OF THE WOMEN IN THE CLUB?

We have members in their twenties, thirties, forties, fifties and sixties. This club is for women who like to go out and have a good time no matter what their age is. We encourage our members to interact based on their common interests and not to limit their relationships based on age. By coming out to events you will quickly recognize other women whom you share common interests with as you will be seeing them over and over again at common interest events. Think outside the box and you just may surprise yourself!

5) WHAT KIND OF THINGS DO YOU DO?

The club does a wide variety of activities. We do the normal things like dinners and movies, but we have also done soap making, pottery painting, rock climbing, boxing, charity events, day and overnight trips. We host regular events such as 'Coffee Talk', "Gourmet Girls', 'Flicks & Chicks', 'Book Babes' and 'Birthday Parties'. We have something for everybody. Members are welcome to host events as well. If you have a special talent and would like to share (teach) this talent to your fellow members, contact an event coordinator to discuss your ideas. Past member hosted events have included things such as knitting lessons, book club events, cabaret nights, health and wellness workshops ... the list goes on! 6) HOW DO I PAY FOR EVENTS?

Most of our events are pre-paid. You can make payment by credit card on this site by using your Visa, Master Card or AMEX, just go to the "Events" link for New Member Events. You can also pay by cheque payable to The Girls Nite Out Club or use www.certapay.com which is the online Interac service (an instant e-mail receipt will be issued to you from Interac once the transaction is completed). *Once your online payment is processed your space at that event is confirmed. The "Members Events" link is for members only events. This RSVP link is password protected and only accessible to active club members. NOTE: There is a handling charge to pay via credit card online - this processing fee is collected by PayPal and is not refundable. This is to cover the cost of providing this service. **Refunds are not available after event confirmation.

7) ARE ALL THE GIRLS IN THE CLUB SINGLE?

No, we have some single girls, but we also have some girls who are married, in serious relationships, engaged and some who are divorced or widowed. The club isn't about going out and finding a man, its about having a great time with other women, and both married and single women need to do that. To accommodate our singles gals we do partner with some of the singles groups in the city and are able to offer our members great discounts on various singles activities throughout the year. One of the greatest things about The Girls Nite Out Club is that it is a constant in your life - whether you are in a relationship or not (and this may change over the years) you'll always have a network of girlfriends to maintain balance in your life.

8) WHY AREN'T MEN ALLOWED AT YOUR EVENTS?

It has been scientifically proven that women bonding with other women, without men, on a regular basis helps them live a long and healthier life. There is almost something magical that happens when you get a group of women together.

9) CAN I BRING MY KIDS TO SOME EVENTS?

No, events are for adults only. The club is a place for women to get away from all of the roles they play in daily life and simply focus on themselves and have fun. Even if your children did not distract you from that vision it may distract others. There may be certain events where it would be appropriate to bring your child along, such as volunteer events (walk-a-thons), etc. Please check with an event coordinator if you have any questions regarding this.

10) HOW DO I JOIN?

To become a member you must submit a signed membership application along with annual membership dues. Membership forms are available in a pdf format and you can pay membership dues via credit card under the 'Membership' link on this site or via cheque, etransfer or cash at a new member event. You will be required to read and agree to abide by the Club Policies & Etiquette agreement prior to joining the club. You are welcome to attend one event to 'check us out' before deciding if you would like to join. Meet and Greet brunches & Mix and Mingle dinners are held regularly to welcome new members to the club. If you are unable to attend the Meet & Greet, you are welcome to come out to another event instead. Our membership services will provide you with information on upcoming events. You simply RSVP to the event you would like to attend and let the event coordinator know it is your first time coming out. You will be given a membership form at the event. You can join that night or wait and join later. There is no pressure to join. 11) WHAT HAPPENS AFTER I JOIN?

You are added to the Club e-mail list so you are notified of all new and upcoming events. RSVP to the events you want to take part in. You will be e-mailed specific details of events if they are not posted on the calendar. You will also be authorized to access our Facebook group and the clubs Yahoo site which contains the events calendar, message board, poll stations and real time chat rooms. The club site also contains the RSVP lists for your reference. The yahoo site only allows access to active members in order to protect the privacy of members and eliminate spam. The Yahoo site does not reflect the actual membership numbers as all members are not able to access the Yahoo site if they only have internet at work and they are blocked by their employers due to policy or firewalls. But no worry if this applies to you as everyone receives e-mail notification of upcoming events and details, so you won't miss a thing. 12) HOW WILL I KNOW WHERE TO FIND YOU THE FIRST TIME I COME OUT?

All reservations are made in the Club name, "The Girls Nite Out Club". If there is a specific meeting place, the event coordinator will let you know. Photos of the event coordinators are also posted on this site under the "Our Team" link so you will be able to identify the coordinator at events.

13) HOW DO I GET TO YOUR EVENTS?

Most of our events are subway accessible and have available parking. When we do out of city trips a private bus company is usually hired or car pooling is arranged. Do not worry if you don't have a car, we will get you there. When car pooling is arranged passengers are asked to contribute to the transportation cost directly to their driver at time of pick up. *You are responsible for your own transportation to events within the GTA.
